How do You ADU?

Adrienne Stolwyk, Architect and Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) advocate, to share resources for homeowners thinking of constructing an ADU. The presentation will cover considerations like: site assessment, zoning limitations, aging-in-place design, general cost and financing, design process, contractor selection, and timeline expectations.

She has advocated for establishing and improving Columbia’s ADU ordinance for over a decade. Adrienne designed, and served as the General Contractor for, a net-zero, straw-insulated ADU in her backyard which was completed in 2022. Adrienne is the owner of Monarch Architecture and a Co-Owner of Building Integrity, a construction company specializing in prefabricated straw-insulated panels.

Nick Timberlake, Civil Engineer and Director of Movement Construction, who has designed and built ADUs will be co-presenting.

There is no fee for the workshop. Adrienne and Nick are graciously donating their time. Attendees are invited to make a donation to Love Columbia, if they are able.
