A homeowner in an historic area of Columbia that qualifies by-right for ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) construction approached Monarch looking to add a detached garage. The schematic design includes a strategy for potentially finishing out the attic into a studio apartment at a later date. Many times constructing an ADU may be of interest down the road, but a client might not have the immediate need or funding to warrant ADU construction in a first phase.
