Looking to improve the aesthetics and function of their home’s exterior, the owners of this unique Columbia, MO property approached Monarch Architecture for design inspiration and material selection. Monarch’s design included a new roofed entry with accent wood-look siding, a swath of blue flat panel Hardie siding, and grey metal siding. This material palette helped make the home more visible in its shady setting and resilient to woodpeckers (which had become a severe problem with the old wood siding). Additionally, this project scope included enclosing the carport to make a garage and bringing a basement non-conforming bedroom into compliance with an egress window.
